I also like the wider one. Two things I see that might or might not be my monitor. First, is there a water droplet right in the center of it's back - approximately where his shoulder blades would be? Second on the right side, on the white space there appears to be a grey smudge?
Creepy looking critters though, aren't they?

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Mimi - first, welcome to the forums!
I think the water droplet you see is actually a bit of flower debris he picked up while sneaking under a nearby bush and the grey smudge I'm pretty sure is actually a green leaf that's poking through the fence, is just so blurred that the color is obscured. (in both cases, it's in the image, not your monitor )
I liked both. Wider because it was puffy in-your-face raccoony cuteness... but the second one, I enjoyed seeing his ears and his skinny little front leg under him too.
