    Casio help (white screen)

I have a Casio Exilim digital camera. All of a sudden when I go to turn it on (and get ready to take a picture) my screen is completely white with a static type line running through it. If I actually take the picture, then it just comes out completely white, since that's what I'm seeing on my screen. Also, if I hold the picture taking button down half way before I go to snap a picture (with that white screen), it will say overexposure.

Sometimes...and I use that term loosely, if I keep turning the camera off and on, it will go to a regular screen (meaning, whatever I point at is what I see on the screen, not that white mess), but it's rare. I can turn the camera on and off 30 times before it will go to normal, and most of the time I can't even get it to work.

Anyone know what's wrong or how to fix this? I tried to google and only found 1 person with a similar problem. Someone else told them to take a q-tip and clean the memory card and all that, which I did...but no luck. I've taken the battery in and out and cleaned all that as well, but it still does it. I just really don't want to get another camera because I rarely use it, and I do like this one.

    Re: Casio help (white screen)

Sounds like the aperture is stuck wide open, and it's letting in too much light.
I doubt if it's worth getting repaired, unless it's under warranty.
But it may be worth asking if you have a real camera shop (not a box shifter).
