    Bee in the Purple

    Haven't posted in a while....really haven't been shooting for a while...last week I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and liked this one. Comments welcome.

    Is that phlox?

    Very nice colors and th bee looks good against the purple. I think Mr. Bumbler gets a little lost in the sea of flowers though. Maybe a slight crop to bring more focus of the shot onto him?

    I agree with CaraRose's comments. I really think you need to get in very close---I mean very close to the bee---until it almost fills up the frame. They are gentle creatures, unless they are being harmed when then will of course try to defend themselves.

    Also, try getting down low instead of shooting from above.

    Nice colours.
