    Got the bugger...

Finally got a couple good captures of a Wild Turkey. I got hip to this ones behaviors and just sat quiet and he walked right out across the road in front of me to go to the field to eat.

    Kristine,
Great shot of a shy bird. I know some hunters that wait hours, days to get a look at one that close.

I think I like the second one best.

PS, I think it is a "she". (No beard)
Plant a tree, help it grow. Children need something to climb.

    Re: Got the bugger...

Thanks! Ya, your right... it IS a she! We have quite a few on the property at work, but they are usually running away or too far off to get a good shot when I do manage to see them.
I guess I will never understand how someone can shoot any kind of animal. I hear shots all the time there at work from people duck hunting on the river or deer hunting south of where I work when its in season. I keep thinking "miss, miss". :'(

I saw a male once along the side of the highway while my mom and I were driving to Starved Rock State Park. Did a total 'WHAT WAS THAT???' before I figured it out. They're a big bird for sure.
