Film Scanner for under 200? Oh yes!

Yes. It's call the ION Slides 2 PC

    http://www.ionaudio.com/slides2pc

It's basically a 5MP camera inside, it actually does a decent job, not to the same caliber as the more expensive units, but right now it's okay for me.

Some good looking scans. Hows the scan speed on it? There's quite a few excellent options out there for 35mm or MF scanners for under $200. Here's the challenge I put to you, find me one that will do 4x5 for under $200!!!...LOL Please?

Speed is decent. Takes about 5" to analyze the frame. You then press a button and it captures a snap shot. You can capture 12 snaps per patch. Then a couple minutes to process through them.

I ran through a four roll event just last evening. Now the task of running them all through PS.

One issue I ran across, it doesn't work that well in Vista, works perfectly in XP

Thanks Axle! That's exactly what I need. It doesn't seem compatible with Mac but I can always use my wife's pc laptop and transfer the images to a thumb drive and then onto my Mac.

For under $200, have a look at the Epson 4490 Photo or Epson V500

Great looking scanner Axle. I think a decent scanner would make me want to use film more than I do now. And at 100$, wow

What is the quality like if you make a 8x10 of the scanned image ?
Cannot really tell the quality from your previously posted images.

    Thx -Carlton
