    Kitty Portrait

A few different angels from a pet portrait shoot and I cannot decide which one I like better

I like the first and second best. I sort of wish the snap of the leash wasn't visible in the first one, but it's my favorite for sure.

    Re: Kitty Portrait

The third photo doesn't look quite sharp on the eyes.
As a portrait, the last one actually shows all the cat
But the background could be better, less cluttered. I have never found a way to get a cat to pose where I want them to, so just have to take the background I can get !
I like the first headshot best, looking into the space on the left.

My favorites are the first and last. My main problem is not photographic - I will never get use to seeing a leash on a cat. - TF

Me neither. My cats stay indoor so they are not even collared. But this little guy tends to wander off when not leashed .. and since he is so cute he would probably end up in a strangers house in no time.

Thanks for the comments guys. The first one was my first choice but I liked them all almost equally. It's always nice to have a second opinion though. Now I know which shots to present first.

    Re: Kitty Portrait

Two of our cats had second homes, I'm sure.
One long haired ginger tom, used to come home with matted fur looking like he'd been through a hedge backwards. His younger brother was a grey long haired tom, who always used to come home with exquisitely smooth fur. After Rocky's younger brother Merlin was hit by a car and died in our garden, it was Rocky that came home strangely smooth and smug. The give-away was he sometimes smelled of perfume, sometimes of wood smoke. So we suspect he had an old lady a few doors away from us well trained

We haven't yet find a collar/harness that will stay on a cat, but if we do then we'll probably walk our Tess to the vet instead of driving there - the noise is too much !

Both our cats were originally outdoor cats since my dad's allergic. Keeler worked her way into an basement-outdoor kitty, then a basement-outdoor-occasionally_upstairs kitty. Then Clyde walked up to our porch, apparently led by the 'suckers live here' sense, and got himself a home. He'd attack Keeler, so she became the indoor cat (at which point we let her come and go upstairs if she wanted. Clyde was the outdoor cat for many years.

Any quick release collar (the ones they always market for cats) Clyde could get out of. I had to go through 5 collars before I finally bought a regular buckled small dog collar. He couldn't get out of that one.

Years down the road and Clyde got FIV. We didn't want to risk spreading it, so he became basement kitty, Keeler upstairs kitty. She's now 20 and the ruler of the house, he's 13, five years since FIV diagnosis, which thankfully still seems to be dormant.

And I'm rambling, so to sum this up... I think both of them would have a nervous breakdown if I tried to leash them!

The first image is striking but seems a little soft to me.

The last image with most of the cat in the frame also stands out. You managed to throw the background nicely out of focus so the cat jumps out of the frame. Plus I like the colors.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Kitty Portrait

I actually prefer the 3rd picture... I like the direction of the cats head and eyes... the first one is great but the one blade of grass going up distracts me....

The last picture is also very good, but I think I would take the blue and clone over the ? cement? and pipe in the background and make it all blue.
    Very pretty cat!
