    Dwarf Iris - HDR

Playing with HDR images again. I shot this hand held so it took a bit of fiddling to align it correctly. I still think I missed a little in the alignment but overall I am pleased with the result. What do you think?

Well I can only assume that 28 views and no comments means no one liked it.

    I like it.

Thanks for sharing a non-bird image, to kind of add "balance" to the overall thread subjects. Unfortunately, it seems that non-bird threads don't get quite as much attention....

Remember that a lot of 'views' are by non-registered guests who cannot reply.

That said, I did view it and am guilty. I really can't figure it out. Why did it need HDR? The dynamic range doesn't appear to be that broad (but if the HDR is well done, I guess that it may look that way). Anyway, all it seems to have done is make it fuzzy. - TF

    Re: Dwarf Iris - HDR

The dynamic range within this image is nice. I'm just not too keen on the point of view.

But then again, I find it very difficult to photograph these well to begin with.

Nice job experimenting with different techniques.

    Re: Dwarf Iris - HDR

AMDA - Thanks for the point of view. I guess I am guilty of doing exactly the same thing since I view and comment on the bird shots and commenting but don't comment on flower shots myself either often enough. Lesson learned lol

OC - I think the fuzziness was caused by mis-alignment of the layers. Shooting hand held was definitely not the best option but I decided to shoot it on the fly. Next time I will use a tripod to make my life easier.

I did the HDR because the light I was shooting in was flat and boring. Close to evening and dark clouds overhead so I figured .. what the heck.. lets see what I get =)

Thanks Loupey - I hate shooting iris's for the same reason but for some reason they keep bringing me back. They are such a beautiful subject and so hard to capture properly. Mine are just starting to flower today so I will continue for the brief period I have before they drop their flowers for the season.
