    Bluebells

    Hi all

These two are probably the best of this year's bluebell images. What do you think? As always, any comments are appreciated and heeded! Light Orton effect applied.

    Cheers

    Re: Bluebells

The first image is the one for me although I would likely crop up from the bottom to remove all the tree roots (which do look great but distract the viewer from the bluebells).

Now if you had titled the image "Roots with Bluebells" .........

The second image is a nice composition but the bluebells just aren't strong enough.
    No, I DON'T need that.

MB1 - I think you were dead right on the crop. I've just done it and it's much better. I've also corrected the very slight tilt to the bluebell portion.

Re the other one .. maybe just rename it "Walk in the Woods"?

    Cheers

The edit (although minor) does do wonders. The bluebells look much stronger.

The cropped version is really nice. The colors of the flowers and the softness of the light coming through the trees really holds my attention. The branches that run horizontal to the frame on the top really keep my eye in the frame.

    Re: Bluebells

i like the first one best.... and the crop is right on.... i dont usually like the Orton effect because it's just too blurry and makes my eyes want to keep trying to focus but the way you did it here is beautiful... its not TOO blurry or "dreamy" like a lot of others that i've seen... this is the best of this particular effect i've seen online so far.. good job.
