    Bridge on trail

I went for a long hike yesterday and brought the camera along. I only took a couple pics since I just wanted to keep moving! I was kind of disappointed the water level was this low, but I guess it is to be expected with the lack of rain...

Anyway, this is from Mt. Tam (northern california) Steep Ravine Trail. Post shot I turned to black and white, and added a little sharpening in iPhoto

To me the image looks tilted to the right quite a bit.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    I like the concept.
    Cool looking trail.
    How's the color look?
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.
Nothing goes right in its time.

Yea the problem was I had the camera on a tripod, very uneven ground. Tried to level it the best I could. I used the tripod to try to freeze what little water there was with a slower shutter speed. Light wasn't that great.

    I like the color better.
To help keep it looking level. Try a vertical next time and watch the trees.
They alway tend to grow straight up.
Keep working with this area. There's a great shot here.

I too think the color image has more possiblities.

And yes, there could well be a great shot from that spot.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Josh,

Is this what remains of Cataract falls? I saw some shots earlier in the year and there was great water flow. This looks pretty dry.

    Re: Bridge on trail

Hmm. Reminds me of the Swiss Family Robinson movie I saw as a kid . It has interest and some nice things happening in the photo, but I also find the composition confusing and the top of the ladder too close to the top of the frame. It seems sharp to me but not as sharp as it could be. Perhaps the resizing softened it? I prefer the color but think that the b&w works too!
