    Barred Owl

A barred owl decided to take a dust bath in my backyard today. I didn't get any great shots (I couldn't get in a good position w/out spooking the bird), but it was still pretty cool to have an owl sitting in my yard in broad daylight.

Mmm. Very nice. The barred owl has such a lovely face, doesn't it? Yours looks much more brown than most I've seen!

Wow, I have never seen a barred owl on the ground mid day, not even hunting!
