    Goldfinches are almost gold...

    Nicely done OC. Exellent pose. I run about 6 thissle feeders to attract these guys. One of my favorite around the house birds.

    Thank you. The nuthatches are a little harder to capture because they usually go straight to the feeder without stopping at the branches nearby. I'm still trying for a little red breasted NH, but they are gone for the summer. - TF

    Spring males are brilliant yellow and shiny black with a bit of white. Females and all winter birds are more dull but identifiable by their conical bill; pointed, notched tail; wingbars; and lack of streaking. During molts they look bizarrely patchy.
