    32/365 Memorial

This was over my spring break, which was the second week of March. Went to Maryland for the first weekend to visit my girlfriend's parents, and they live about 20 minutes out of DC. So naturally we went down there.

Anyway, I shot this at the Vietnam Memorial. Just one of those shots where you set the camera down for a different angle, and ended up with something you really like.
Comment and critique and rip to shreds, please!

Looks good. The light at the top looks like some sort of heavenly halo, and the upturned head of the shadow figure reinforces that theme. The "75" on the bottom left is a bit distracting, but I suppose theres not much you could do about it.

Ourtstanding photo - I really like it. One improvement might have been to either loose the 9 or get the 19 in front of the 75.

This was my time, I have several friends listed on the wall, and I always have strong feelings when I see photos of the wall. I do like the different prospective use used.

No reason at all to rip this one to shreds. Agree with everyone on the 75, but this is a very unique shot.

    Thanks for posting.

Nice picture. The reflections of the people give a nice ghostly or ethereal quality to the shot. I especially like the way it fades out near the top.

I like this alot. A really well executed artistic approach to this. Very moving in the way the names fade into a heavenly light above, with the dark shadow peering up. The last two digits of the year is perfect.
    really well done.

I agree. What a unique perspective. It's not often that you see this original (and well-executed) a take on a subject that has been photographed ad nauseum. The shadow and the fade to white put it over the top for me. Congrats on the Sticky.

Nothing much to rip - great shot.. creative, well executed, catchy look. Congrats! The only thing I would change is to move that (mostly) vertical central line a little more off center, to the right there. Otherwise, can't think of a single thing more to make it better

    Congrats on the feature.

    Re: 32/365 Memorial

I unfortunately recognize a few of the names on the right from being in my friends unit. This is such a powerful picture to me, for personal reasons.

As far as composition and perspective, I think it is awesome.

    Thank you.

    Re: 32/365 Memorial

beautiful, moving, powerful shot...as everyone else has said...well done!!!

i think this is an image where it is a good idea to break that "rule of 3" thing...I like that the vertical line is in the center...in fact, i would like to see it even more exactly in the center, and straightened......

but, just such a lovely shot...perfect angle...lighting...composition, everything
