Poppys in France

I live in a motorhome and while travelling through France, I stopped for a cup of tea. And took these pictures while I was waiting for the kettle to boil

The single poppy could be interesting but I think having it in the center and also the horizon being centered detract. I think it needs more foreground to really make it feel alone in the field. The light wasn't good.
I like the unique perspective in the second but think it would work better in vertical format and with more foreground.

I like what you've tried to convey here, while I agree with the above comments I like the artistic effort and thought you tried to capture. Well done. S
