    Smile Signs of spring: Catkins

    I love catkins They are so nice and soft to touch - one of my favourite signs of spring!

    Mette, you have increased my vocabulary.
    I had to look up catkin. Now I still don't know if this is a catkin or a bud in the picture with the blossom.
    This is a sun rose. The petals only last a few hours then they drop.

    Gorgeeous images, Norris Again, sorry for not replying earlier...

    I think what you have there is buds - I think catkin is only used for certain tree species? I'm not certain of the exact definitions!
