    Help Needed!

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew why my pictures are changing after I upload them to my computer. Please take a look at the example as some of my pictures are doing this after the picture has been transfered to my computer.

    Thanks, your help is appreciated.

    Hi,
If you can see the images right in the lcd of your camera then it's not the camera.
Try to put the memory card of your camera directly to your computer (with a card-reader of course).
If it's ok then the cable you are using is possibly damaged or you have a compatibility issue.
If it's not ok, then possibly the software you are using does not support completely the file format or you may have other issues with your computer, try to another computer to verify for sure.
A similar situation i had a few years back the problem was with the firmware of the camera.
I believe i covered most of the problems to that issue, anyone else? A moderator maybe with more experience?

From the looks of it, it is definitely a corrupted file. That means, as the previous poster said, if it is okay in camera, then it is getting corrupted in the transfer...assuming there IS a transfer. You did not mention the camera, the media, or how you upload the pictures to the computer. But I second the motion that you should (always!) use a card reader, and not transfer over a cable.

I used a card reader. I've never used the cable to transfer the files. I checked and the photos are ok on the camera. So I'm going to have to agree that this is probably happening when I transfer the photos.
Thanks for you replies, it helped!

    Re: Help Needed!

Tell us a bit about your equipment...camera? memory card? card reader? computer? image processing software? Did all the photos that you took at the same time (or thereabouts) have this problem? So many questions for followup. HTH.

    Cheers,

It also could be a corrupt FAT on the memory card. Run CMD to bring up the DOS window on a windows PC. then in the dos window type: CHKDSK F: were F: is the drive letter of the memory card. Or just reformat the memory card to rule out cross linked files and like.
