More from the marathon. As usual, all comments and critique greatly appreciated.

This is a really powerful shot - I would like to think more about it - sometimes you need to sit on something for a while - hope you know what I mean... I will post something further later...

Man, that's a powerful shot. Can you imagine how many people in chairs or with other handicaps could relate strongly to that shot? They must feel like that many times a day.
I could see this shot being used in some kind of accessability campaign.

Somehow, I would like to see the sky burnt in. However, I like this shot. One thing that stuck out at me was the man looking over amongst the runners. It even appears that he may be clapping.

tuna, one thing I've noticed about all your work I've seen here is that you capture a sense of timelessness. I can never tell if it was taken yesterday or decades ago. I really like that. I'm so amazed how you are able to do that. You somehow capture precisely the minimum amount of information to tell the story and not a blade of grass more. I've come to eagerly open your posts to see what treasure you have for us today.

I would have to agree with everyone else it is a very powerful shot. It really makes you sit back and think.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Tuna,
This shot is indeed powerful and beautiful. Technically and emotionally beautiful.
I agree with Todd, and found that the runners were interesting to look at as well, and I see a few people clapping. I am glad that they are visible, because I feel that the runners may have provided some importance to the person in the chair as well.

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments and critique. However, I understand that I simply captured the moment and that much of your emotion comes due to the extraordinary circumstance of the gentleman in the wheelchair and others like him. And rightly so.

    Thanks again!

even so - you were there and made a judgement about how the shot would best work - all the great photojournalism shots I remember have the elements of your photo - ie poignant moments with a powerful context or message - still someone was there making split second judgements about how the emotion/strength etc of the moment could best be captured and expressed using the techniques of your craft and I believe you have achieved that - congratulations it is a great photo.

I keep coming back to this image. I do like it a lot. Here's how I imagine it presented. I hope you are not offended by my playing with it. I find this image inspirational, hence the presentation.
