    Sunset on the Boise river

Hi could i get some thoughts on this picture.

I am wondering if the tree on the left being clipped off at top is that big of a deal, for some reason it bugs me.

    Thanks in advance!

It isn't as bad as some I've seen.
Maybe, if you are good at cloning, you could clone some of the top limbs out and still leave it looking natural.

    The clipping doesn't bother me.

But that's a lot of sky for an uninteresting sky.

Hmm. I agree that the slight clip off on the tree isn't that bad and that the real culprit is that the sky isn't that interesting. This could be compensated for by something there in the water were the light reflects, like a boat. But w/o something there, it just doesn't have enough detail to be a super shot. Pretty colors though,

I like to either see the entire tree or to have them cropped more so it looks deliberate.

Thanks for taking a look! I agree that the sky is a bit vanilla, would have been nice if there where some clouds out.

I also played around with croping the tree down making it look deliberate and it did improve the picture.

    Thanks!

Re: Sunset on the Boise river

You know, this is one of those photos for me where I appreciate the empty blue sky and the vastness of it. The colors here are very pleasing and the composition balanced in a good way. The heavy contrast and dark black areas set off the luminance in the sky and reflections in the water.
I agree that the cut off tree bothers me a bit too, but Frogs suggestion of clipping it down is a good way to go.
    Good stuff
