    Another 'hatch and a 'dee

I know, they're just your common backyard birds. But, they are just as much, if not more, of a challenge to shoot as hawks, eagles and herons. They're just not as exciting.

Just because they're common doesn't mean they're easy to shoot. Swallows are common, too, but go try to shoot them in flight. How about chickadee taking off, eh?

Chickadee is one of my favorite birds. Thanks for sharing !!

LOL... Mooning apart, I prefer the second one Another one of your cute little furballs that I don't see around here!

I'm definitely having much more trouble with the small birds, they might be more common but also much more challenging, esp when one doesn't possess a monster lens. They seem much more skittish and they are much faster - they hide behind lots of branches a lot of the time and they never sit still for more than a second (not easy using MF).

    So, well done!!!

Nice job Mike. I love the little catch light in the chickadee's eye.

Great shots - even catching common yard bird pics, at the optimal time, with an interesting pose, can be quite a challenge. The 'dee' shot is spot on !
