    Winter reading

Taken outside the chalet at the local ski hill. The sun was warm enough to want to stay outside, and this woman was settling in for some quiet time with a book.

For this shot I wanted to highlight the lines of the wood planks, but found it hard to get a good angle. Plus there were lots of people moving around. I think it might have worked a bit better if I had gotten more of the wall she was sitting against along with more foreground.

    Re: Winter reading

Cath - I see what you see, a nice scene of a woman siting in a somewhat odd place to read a book. I also like the lines the wood flooring makes.

For improvement, I think that the person behind her really needs to go. It makes the scene look cramped, .. though I am not sure you could do anything about this except wait for him to leave. Also, the way the folks in the back area touching the top of the image frame bothers me a little, also making the pic looked cramped.

A great, or at least good subject is important, but I think one has to consider the area around it also, in deciding if the image will work. Alas, good eye for spotting her,
