This is my dog Buddy. He decided that after going and getting a bath & brush that he would do some snow diving to cool off. Face first! Hilarious to watch a 160 lb dog bounce like a puppy seeing snow for the first time.

Black and White dog on a white background is certainly hard to expose for. Looking back to a year ago I would not have been able to do this shot as skillfully. The colour difference confuses me as I copy pasted the adjustment settings in Lightroom and the camera settings didn't change between shots. Does anyone have any suggestions to correct this during export?

Sorry, can't help with PP either.

But I can tell you that I really like the composition in #1. Also good sharpness. However, you might want to apply the "straighten" tool...

In #2 first thing which draws my eye is the "chopped off" head, since you didn't add a border around the image my eye travels around and suddenly comes to an abrupt halt. Cropping in tighter will help, though I still like #1 most. Nice job. :thumbsup:

Love the shots. Very cute dog.
The snow in the first photo is not as white as the second photo and Buddy's beard matches it.
Looks like a white balance thing to me. I am not really sure what you are talking about with "Lightroom" and "during export" really (I'm new to all of this), but I do know that with my photoshop I can change the shade of whites by selecting 'adjust color', then 'remove color cast'. You then click the eyedropper on a white part of the photo.
Sorry if you know all of this are are speaking of something entirely different!

SARtech - Thanks ... it was the white balance. I guess I needed to step back and take a blink. I totally forgot to look at that. Thank you for the reminder.

Frog -Thank. That's my favourite shot of him I have taken to date. He is very cooperative so there's always a new shot of him around the house.

AMDA - Thanks for the comment. I just checked the raw file and #2 is from the camera so the head crop was unintentional. The expression on his face is what sold me. I agree though that adding a border might change the feel of the shot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry for reviving this post for a sad reason.... but we lost our dear Buddy today to an unknown sudden system failure. 5 years old just last week. He will be missed.

Ahh man. I should have read through all of the post's, or read the date. I'm so sorry for your loss. I just had to put down one of my labs in February. It never gets any easier and only time will heal your wounds.
This is my fourth Lab that has died in my arms, not counting other dogs. For each one of them I have a framed picture of them with the quote below on a special wall in my house. I know in time I'm going to have to add to that wall, and I'm not looking forward to it. Its the price we pay for having such a short time with a bud that will never let us down.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
