    Contax 645 vs. Hassy 503CX/553ELX

Strictly in terms of image quality, does anyone know how they compare?

Is there much of a difference at all? (I think they both take Zeiss lenses, yes?)

Dray, I haven't seen any actual resolution tests for the Contax lenses. The Hasselblad lenses though are extremely sharp from the test results I have seen. The Contax lenses are also made by Zeiss and I have no reason to believe that they wouldn't be every bit as sharp as the Hassy ones. I guess it all boils down to whether you would prefer shooting 6x6 or 645. Keep us posted on which way you go.

Hi Aaron - hmm, so it may well boil down to format preference after all...

I've read and heard that the 80/2 and 120 Makro for Contax are among the sharpest offerings from Zeiss, which I wonder if is really true. I'd prefer the 6x6 format - 645 seems kind of like a neither-here-nor-there size - but I also like the handholdability and autofocus of the Contax... so again I say... hmm.

Thanks for the reply - will indeed keep you posted!
