AC/DC at the Xcel Energy Center

These pics are more just for entertainment purposes I guess.. but some info on how to improve with these types of shots would be very helpful, as I will be in the 5th row on the floor for their show in January . Angus is especially hard to capture, he has SO much energy! Haha... I also was only using my kit lens, which obviously isn't too fast, and I'm not sure I will have a new one for the next show. Anyhow, here are 2 pics from the 4th row on the floor.

I have a lot more, some are better, however, I only have these 2 on the laptop at the moment.

Great pics, my goodness they look older, if they do then so must I, they look younger already. I'd probably crop the first shot just behind (what's his names back) so he's more left of center in the frame. Great work. S

Lori don't feel old I know there names also, I'm a big AC/DC fan. I'm also jealous I would love to go and see them. With Angus my advise is to stop him with a fast shutter if you can get away with the lighting.

You should go see the Stones.LOL But for these the subject do look a little soft. Did you shoot wide open? The crowd looks more in focus than the band. You could try and sharpen them. Next time I think you should set your camera for spot focus on the subject and shot as high of an ISO as you can without killing it with noise. Maybe Sebastian will critique these. His concert shots are awesome.
I am jealous too. My son wanted to go to the Atlanta show but it's sold out:mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

I think the first shot is excellent.

Re: AC/DC at the Xcel Energy Center

well i actually have more pics from this concert that are probably better.. cant really get to an internet connection that often on my laptop i was shooting on my canon Xsi with the kit lens, IS enabled of course... between 1/15 and 1/80 i believe.. i think at 400 Iso, pretty sure it was wide open the whole time..... im not really experienced at all, especially in the darker, concert type of scene.. but i messed around with the settings during the warm up band and was pretty happy with how everything turned out.. i sort of like the grainy look to the angus picture with the crowd and what not although he is alittle blurry like i said he was really hard to capture given my circumstances... would it be ok of me to post other concert pics in this thread? or should i start a new one elsewhere? have to go for now..

thx for the comments so far everyone
