Barn in Banner, WY. Maybe the lights a little harsh but I like it.

The clarity and colors are nice but what isn't working for me anyways is the trailer and the antennas power poles? on the hills. Just a thought if possible shooting during the magic hour. For a little softer light
What lens did you use? This may sound like a dumb question; but I am curious to know what kind of lens a person uses to get everything in the scene like you did. Would a 50mm work for something like this or do you need something else?
Anyway I really like this picture - I love barn photos.
This was taken with a Powershot G9. I was quite far away from the scene. I also like shortening the distance between the foreground and back ground. The focal length was around 140mm. If I was shooting with my DSLR I would have chosen my 80-200 f/2.8L.
When most people are asked to recommend a "landscape" lens, the majority of the answers are for ultra wide angle lenses. I couldn't disagree more with this generalization of what a landscape lens is. A landscape lens is the lens you use to take a landscape photo with.

Dawn,
A 50mm would probably work just fine. Being a prime lens (not a zoom) you decide how much of the scene you're going to include by walking towards it, or backing away.

I like the "flavor" of the shot, but I'm not crazy about the barn being slammed down on the bottom edge (I understand there was probably a road/dumpster/other unsightly distraction)
I also agree with Ray that the black trailer and red & white communication tower are not really doing the composition any favors.
EOS - Needs more saturation and/or contrast I think. The sky is a tad bland. Also, though it has great elements - barn, trees, mountains, sky - there are a lot of distracting little elements there too, such as the fences, hemispheric (metal) thing, trailer, etc. I think these add up to the point of making it look cluttered, though it also makes it look more realistic (this is the stuff people do have out there, I guess).

I did some messing around, probably what I should have done to start with.
