    A little cyclocross

Ya'll might have seen my other thread with the Lifeflight helicopter. Now I'm putting up the other images of the race that I promised in that thread. This is how we do Cyclocross races out in Northen CA, all sun, no mud

    7. I decided to try some different shots. I'm trying to expand my horizons and break out of the "must have face" images, and try to get more art type photos.

    8.

    9. Even the kids got into it. It was fun watching this little guy climb over one of the obstacles

    10. One of my personal favorites. The race organizers always seem to have the finish setup so the backs of the racers are facing the sun.

    Re: A little cyclocross

Every one of these is absolutely awesome. I feel like I just looked through a magazine or a bike ad! I like 5 and 6 a lot just for the composition, but all of them are great.

    Re: A little cyclocross

    Thanks!

I was actually pretty stoked how well these came out straight from the camera. I'm planning on submitting a few to a magazine or two as well

Yes these are great. I don't think that I can find a negative in any of them, BRAVO... Send them in to a mag.

    Re: A little cyclocross

    Thanks for the comments

And yes, I did submit a couple images to a magazine, and I'm possibly getting one on a calender from this race.

Besides trying to shoot each racer & sell them, I felt inspired to try to take a more journalist approach and try to photograph the race. It really made me think about what I wanted to shoot.

Thanks for the POTW as well, that was a nice surprise since its been a tough day today

    Excellent!

    Scott-
This is a great batch of photos. I think it might be my favorite bunch from you. This wasn't the race that was on Sunday in the City, is it? I can't tell from the background. But I heard there was a race at the Presidio.

    Re: A little cyclocross

Na, I couldn't make the race in SF. This one was in Prunedale, near the 101 exit to Monterey.

    The pics are great.

I am a little surprised to see all the flat bars though.
