Hey Tom. I quite like the three zones of colours here. The two birds are a good touch also. Very artsy. The only thing that breaks up a bit for me is the left side of the yellow area. I wish it didn't take such a dramatic turn upwards. But i really love the tones here. such a rich chocolaty brown and good detail in both the yellow and the water. good job.

Very beautiful Tom. I like the placement of the birds and the changing tones through the shot. I think I see faint signs of bird prints in the sand. I am sure a web size shot of this doesn't do it the justice it deserves. Nice work.

The different color tones are well captured and the birds are a nice touch.
I do wish that gray part on the left were still the same brown of the rest of the beach..
The bird droppings are realistic but sort of distract.
Those are rather nit-picky as this is a nice and rather unique capture.

This is a great three layers of tones, colors and textures. I like the hook in the yellow sand as it goes upward at the left. I am not sure, but what looks like a plastic bottle in the yellow sand just before the hook upwards? If so, I'd suggets removing it. I like this alot Tom, and the birds there add the little extra something for thought.

fantastic photo, as said before, the layers, birds, and colors are excellent. the only thing that I would want to change is the white sand on the left (where the water receded?). Otherwise excellent photo

It looks to me like you shot this in pretty crummy overcast light. I wish the colors were stronger but they work fine here.

I'd say you did an outstand job on the composition.

2 thumbs up from me for this.
    No, I DON'T need that.

The more I look at this, the more I like it. You used the rule of thirds nicely, the lighting is nice without being too much, like on a bright sunny day.

Re: Where The Desert Meets The Sea

    Thanks everyone.
Leels; Thank you. I actually liked the angle upwards and thought it provided a good shape to match that of the waves. it's interesting to hear your take on it.

Greg; Thanks as always. They are indeed the footprints of the birds but don't really get any better in the A3 print.

Frog; Yes the surf had just left that area and provided the wet area of the sand. Thanks a usual. Where's your Bob Dylan quote gone?

Gary; No doubt it does look like a plastic bottle. I had to go back to the big file to convince myself that it wasn't. It is actually part of the texture and shape in the sand. Many thanks.
MB1; Thanks for the thumbs up here. There is definitely more pop in the colours before reducing it for the web.
Thank you Danic and I'm glad you are enjoying it. I must say that the rule of thirds was the furthest thing on my mind when I composed this. If it looks good to me in the viewfinder I click.
