    Re: Season's End

frog - it works for me. The colours are lovely and well caught. I think you've cropped it just right. I was trying to work out whether or not it might be better with a person in it - but I'm not sure. The one fault (and it isn't really a fault) is that there is no real central thing to draw the eye. Even so, some images are just about letting the eye wander happily around the frame - maybe this is one of those. Very pleasing all round.

I like it as well. All of the fall colors the river in the background and the placement of the tables. Nice work Frog. It certainly creates mood.

I like it too, but as Mike noted, the leaves on the table camoflage the central subject enough that your eye tends to wander around hunting for it (my eye ended up resting on the water, middle/upper right). What *might* be a little more effective is to just knock some of the leave off around the edges to define the table a little more distinctly. Very nice depiction of autumn though.

Frog. I like it the DOF is good the colors are crisp. The only thing I would have tried was to see what the composition would have looked like shooting the scene at a lower ground level but that is just me.

This is very nicely framed, Frog. A beautiful scene. i like the tree hanging over tha table sort of framing the subject. The patches of green grass showing through the thin spread area of leaves is wonderful. The table covered with leaves does make it blend in much with the leaves in the background and in doing so loses alot of definition and depth. I think a printed image would handle that situation better than the low resolution here on our monitors. Great scene done well

I must forget to click post reply sometimes as I did thank everyone for your feedback yesterday.
So thanks again and the feedback pretty much confirms what I was thinking. I took several shots of this subject from varying angles, including lower, but could not get the separation of table and bg that I would have liked. I could not bring myself to knock leaves off the table.
Thankyou again for all your invaluable feedback.
    Keep Shooting!
