    Hawks takes out Squirrel

Hawk swooped in real fast into this tree and pegged that poor squirrel right to the tree limb.

I got to greedy and to close and scared him off shortly after these pics.
Definitely a manual focus due to all the limbs in my way...

Maybe this thread should've been titled, "The unlucky squirrel".

Anyway, great captures. Too bad about the out of focus leaves in the foreground, but I know that couldn't be helped. You did well to focus on the hawk and the squirrel and not on the leaves.

niec shots, i kinda like the oof leaves in the front, i think it adds some depth and frames it better. kinda like we are peaking in on something secret.

Beautiful shots, I'm with Dylan on this, the leaves add depth and framing.

    Re: Hawks takes out Squirrel

After looking at these pics again, I could go either way on the out of focus leaves in the foreground. However these were apparently very quick grab shots and as such are incredibly good. Possibly even FP material (hint, hint). Especially the second one IMO.

    Wow - terrific capture.

Squirrel still looks alive in these shots - did it escape?

Did you see those talons? That squirrel didn't stand a chance.

    Re: Hawks takes out Squirrel

Thanks all for the kind words. Readingr......Squirrel did not make it. Hawk flew higher up in the tree after these shots and definitely had a full dinner.
I see a lot of Hawks feeding here but never have i seen one fly into a tree and peg a squirrel right in its place to a branch!!
