    B&W flower

Golly me! I've gone back to school.
Taking a course in B&W film at the local college.
    This is PPed from color.
Thought I'd run it by You folks.

I like it, pleasant. I wonder how it might look with the entire flower in focus. Cool and congrats on gettin' in the classroom. I will be there soon in the next couple of months..

Sorry, not working for me. Needs way more dof and something about the shades/tones isn't right.

    Re: B&W flower

    Thnx for the comments...
Narrow DOF is what I was going for. My regret is that the plane of focus is tilted somewhat towards the bottom of the frame. The flower is quite small...less than 1/2"
and I was trying to fill the frame with it. my tripod is a bit too tall to get things level.

    Try this one in sepia.

PS Frog I know you don't care too much for florals, but I live in the silly old burbs of Detroit and they're about the best looking thing around here.
Hoping the class will widen my horizons a little.

Now the second one I like. Very nice tones and soft feel. The narrow DOF on the first would work better if the lower petal wasn't in the shot. A slightly higher angle and the center in focus is what I am thinking.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..

    Thanks for your kind comments......
The bad part is I haven't a decent scanner, so pics from my class will only be prints.....
