    Shrimp platter shoot

    Greetings,

This is a birthday present I received from Glass Artist Lee Brady.

I placed the platter on a piece of 30" x 30" x 1/4" plate glass and raised it off the backdrop with white tobacoo cans. The glass wasn't quite big enough so I cloned out the cans with Light Box Plus.

    14-54mm @ 42mm, 1/50, f 3.3, iso 400

    Cheers, Don

    Great present.
And thanks for showing the lighting setup.

The plate looks soft to me at the bottom. I would have thought you could get perpendicular to the plate, or use a smaller aperture, to get it all in focus?

I thought the bottom was a bit soft too but on closer inspection it is the texture of that piece of glass. I turned the platter 90 degrees and got the same results.

Perhaps I'll reset up lower so I can use a tripod and try f 8..

I did try shooting straight down and didn't care for the perspective

    Thanx, Don

You make some beautiful furniture Don (yeah...I peeked). My favorite is the floating table.

Thank you very much, it's always good to hear ...

Reshot at 1/5, f 7.1, iso 200, 33mm and a little more aggressive with PP
