    Marconi Memorial

DC sure has a lot of oddball/unexpected memorials.

This is the Marconi Memorial in front of the Mount Pleasant public library.

I'm liking the composition, light and exposure but am thinking it really needs another element in the frame to add depth.

    Thoughts?

    I think I'm kidding ... memorial, statue, pigeon ?

I'm not sure the cloud top left adds anything, have you considered cropping from the top?
Clone out the building from the bottom right?

I hesitate to say it to you, of all people, but a square crop ?

    Re: Marconi Memorial

I don't get it. Marconi was a man. A pigeon would be good on the extended arm. I also think laundry would work but probably not fitting.

How is the lighting at night? Maybe a long exposure with stars in the background? She would make a good hood ornament, smaller of course.

Okay it could be me but what's the Marconi link? Just can't see it. If I saw this without the title I would think more discuss thrower and therefore think Olympics.

As for additions, handbag in the right, brush in the other hand!

I don't like the hot spot on the ball and chest so lighting is an issue along with the cut off statue on the left.

There is a bust of Marconi below her on the base-out of sight in this shot. I think she represents the speed of communication or something along those lines.

    No HD for me.

Mid morning, fairly intense light bouncing off the gilded statue pretty much patching the intensity of the sky. Got a good match exposing for the statue.

Manual exposure with the vivid setting on an Olympus 420.
