    Re: Finally, They Meet

I think this is a great shot. As I scrolled down, I thought the top cat was a real cat.
I don't think you caught this by chance and that you did a bit of coaxing and luring to get your cat where it is.
My only problem is the lower cats blown chin.

    Hi Frog,
Thanks for the comments. You are absolutely right about the blownchin; I think I was a bit carried away. About the shooting, I had sticked the photo above the cat's "territory" and was waiting for his reaction.

I like this moment. It's the 'Aha I could feel someone's eyes on me' transaction, and then 'Oh, there you are'. Great interaction within the frame, I find it both amusing and unusual. Nice capture Yoyo! BTW~ The overall tone of the b/w conversion seems to trend blue on my monitor FYI not sure if that was intentional or not.

I really like it, you succeeded in getting a very classic feel, I am really glad that cat shot in the photo is not framed, the slight curl of the paper makes the photo seem 3 dimensional. I would really like to see the upper cats face though, the shadow detail looks totally crushed, namely I want to see its eyes. Hows the color version?

    Re: Finally, They Meet

A well planned and great capture. I think it is soft and I too feel like it has some sort of color cast as opposed to a true nuetral b&w, but aside from the technical issues it is a great moment and that makes this shot.
    I like it.

    Re: Finally, They Meet

Great idea, almost perfect execution (and timing). Very contemporary tones, minimalist setting. It's a tad bit soft or something esp on the picture and how it fades into the wall, but maybe you had to use a slow SS and limited DOF to capture it.

This shot is neat because it's almost like two separate photos in one. Either part of the image, top or bottom half, could stand on its own.

    Re: Finally, They Meet

Hi S, Thanks for the kind words.

Hi CL, I agree with your perspective. The bluish tint was added wiht PS.

Hi Anbesol, You are right about the exposure of the top cat. The colour version is not attractive at all as the lighting was very bland.

Hi Gary, Yes, the photo is a bit soft. It was taken with a 14 mm at f2.8 at a pretty close distance. The bluish tint was added with PS.

Hi Greg, Thanks for the kind words as always.

Hi GB, Thanks for the sharp observation. Yes, the shot was taken at f2.8 and the DoF was rather narrow.

Hi nirvan, You are absolutely right about the exposure. Thanks for the kind words.
