Now that's a hat rack! Well composed,CLK. The lighting produced some great shadows, excellent color tones.
    Nice work

I like the composition and lighting. I wish you could bring out more detail in the black hat and fix the left lean. Nice idea Cindy.

I like it, Cindy. I agree about bringing out more detail in the black hat. I think you could up the overall exposure in this.
I like the shadows and subtle tones.

    Re: Fancy Hat Rack

Thanks for the feedback everyone. And thanks for taking the time to look I appreciate it.

PBD - I used side window light for this shot because that's what was there. The shadows do make it look like there were more light sources in the room though, so I can see why you thought there might be.

Thanks Rick! I always appreciate your thoughts. The shadows on the wall were what initially caught my eye.

Hi Greg - Yes there was a perspective tilt because of trying to avoid clutter in the room and isolate the scene. It bothered me too so I'm posting a correction. I don't think it's fixed completely but it doesn't jump out so much now. I also selectively adjusted the black hat for a bit more detail.

Thanks Gary - Yes the black hat barely had any definition. I think I've addressed that in my edit. The subtle tones were what I was trying to preserve in the scene overall so I let it fly. I have a second shot that's a half stop up and feels almost too bright so I stuck with just bringing up the hat.

    Re: Fancy Hat Rack

I think it needs a small splash/spot of color somewhere in the image to bring out more of the subtle colors that are already there.

Something red or gold on a hat band or the rope would do nicely.

Still, it is a nice spare composition that works well just as it is.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Seems a little dark at the top, Cindy. But if the below lighting was even more exaggerated it might be a really moody shot.
