Jesus that's some serious firepower ! What deal did you get on the 70-200 2.8? Did you get the 18-200 WITH the d300 for 1800? That'd be bloody phenomenal. It looks in great shape too, brand new? Congrats

Don't forget to sell the grip

The grip/battery pack for the D200 won't fit on the D300, so don't forget to sell it with the camera. I find the D300 more comfortable to use with the battery pack, especially with a big lens.

I would have kept the 18-200VR. I find I use it for most things.

Holy cow - that's a hell of a deal! How did you get it so cheap? Who'd you buy it from?

Please use the classifieds here if you plan to sell your D200 online. I think I may even know someone who will be interested.

Especially when you come to the realisation that 200mm is not enough and you get the 300mm f/2.8 to extend your reach a little .

    Amen to that!

I absolutely love the 70-200 VR & D200 combo, and I can just image what that lens & a D300 will put out.

I almost bought a D300 a month or so ago, but my wife wanted a DLSR, so I had to downgrade to a D200 for me & a D70 for her.

    Re: well i upgraded today

I bought the D300 kit from a college student that needed mony He spent 2500 for it 6 months ago and used it once. I bought it for 1800. as for my 70-200 vr I bought that brand new and yes it hurts. but everytime I look at it I giggle.lol. Thanks everyone. I am all ready planning to buy a TC for it but not sure which one. I mainly bought it for modeling so I can shoot through the umbrella. I like my sigma 24-70 2.8 but the new lens blows it away

Yes the 70-200 does bring a warm feeling to the heart everytime you look at it / touch it / use it .....

I too went with a TC for mine.. read alot about the 1.4 / 1.7 / 2.0 - was looking at a tamron or sigma TC so i can use it with other lenses. Was turned away from that idea due to the softness it would create. Was told that the 1.7 TC from Nikon was the way to go. They told me that here and at the local camera shop. Said they match up the best - lose 1 1/2 stops - so instead of a 2.8 it is 4.8 - vs 2 stop loss with the 2.0 TC. Now I get 119mm - 340mm with it - the VR helps with the stop loss too
