Something a bit different - Power Lifting

My younger brother has been a powerlifter for over 30 years now, and holds many national and world records in various sanctioning bodies. He recently had an International World Championship meet at the York Barbell Club in York, PA. Since he had to pass literally right past my house on his way from Chicago to York, he stopped off and picked me. Here are just a few of the shots I got out there.

WOW! It's great to see this here. Nice shots that really show the emotion.

I just shot our hs football team lifting and it's wild to even watch them. I can't imagine something like this.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

You can certainly feel the stress in those shots. The T-Shirt is appropriate too, the "Property" market is under a bit of stress itself, which I hope it can lift itself out of as well...pun intended.
    Shootme...

What are the weight's he is lifting? I'm curious to see what the big boy's lift because those plates look deceptively small for such strain (eg: they look like your typical 45lb plates...of course I have a feeling they are not!)

    Great shots!

    Great shots!
The gold plates are roughly 100 lbs, the blue are around 50; not positive on the others.

My brother is in the "amateur" division, which means life-time drug-free. He got 660 in the squat, 415 in the bench, and 580 in the deadlift.

There were also guys there in the "pro" division, which you can draw your own conclusions as to what that means...
Some of the pros were doing 900+ squats
