    Odd Flower

This is one from a few years ago that I just ran across. I took it with my Canon D60, and I would guess ∑70-300mm. It was located on the side of a mountain in North Carolina.

The color temperature looks very much like a flash, and not so much like natural light. There is some slight blur on the stem pieces (?) coming out the front of the flower which is very distracting. I'd like to see more bokeh in the back as opposed to jet solid black.

It was shot using flash, and unfortunately for me it was just begining to rain. Normally I would take several images from different angles, but I wasn't about to risk my camera. I would have liked to do it in natural light, but there just was not enough. I had a slow lens at the time, and it was getting to be evening in the forest.

At any rate I am pleased with how it came out. I like the black background myself, but I suppose that is all subjective.

    Thanks for the comments!

Looks like an Iris of some kind, but I love the shot. The stem being blury gives it a kind deepness to the photo. looks very nice

I like the framing Almo, but the flash lighting does look harsh to me. Not too bad, but still able to see it is a flash hitting it. Bouncing your flash off a large white board could help alot next time when there is not sufficient natural light.
Still, a nice image with a stark appearance off the black bg.
