    Advice on better crops/adjustments

    Did a road trip through New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada.

    These two I like, but I'm having some problems. Just not able to find that right picture within the picture..

    Any other tips for improvement would be greatly appreciated.

    I think they're great as is. Maybe that's why you are having a hard time improving them...

    The top one would be hard to crop anything off and still be left with enough of anything. those clouds take up the whole sky and I wouldn't think you would want to loose any of that. Maybe try brightening the hill.
    The second is very nice for the exposure in my opinion. The shadows are almost a little strong, but that can only be fixed with a different time of the day. I would suggest taking a fair bit off the bottom. Maybe right at the top of the hill where the interesting rock formations start.
