    Loving Memory

An old one here that I had dismissed but on having another look recently I had second thoughts.
    Your thoughts?

Tom, I'm trying to understand why you would have dismissed this one. IMO, this is nothing short of outstanding. The grain, tones, composition and the moment captured all adds up to one heck of a shot. What did you shoot this with and when, if I may ask

    Re: Loving Memory

    Thanks very much Gary.
It was shot 2/3 years ago in the West of Ireland with my old Canon G5 digital compact. The weather was absolutely foul with a constant misty rain throughout the day. Typical West coast Irish weather.
I dismissed it because of the image quality and lack of clarity. But the other night I brought it up on the screen again and in effect tried to turn the poor quality to "advantage", with the addition of a little more grain and conversion to B/W and some other twiddling about.
But I did always like the way the bull sort of kept his eyes towards the stone as if missing an old master. I also liked the message on the stone.
So I did feel I retrieved a reasonable result hence my putting it up for critique.
I'm so glad you like it.

I must agree with Gary. This is pretty good. The on looking animal almost as if he misses the old Dr. sets a very nice mood.

Count me in. It's really striking in it's mood. Well done, OB. I think this works on a lot of levels.

I like the overall composition, but I wish there were more room all around.
