    The Streets of Budapest

    Hi all

I'm just back from a short break in Budapest ... here are three images I took there. I know that critique posts are best with just one or two pictures, but these are linked in that all were taken as I wandered through the very pretty streets.

The first was taken in a baby/kid's clothes shop (my wife haunts these places as our daughter is expecting!)

The second is just a pretty window with geraniums and a sun screen.

The third is a little piece of grafitti on a weathered door. (I call it "Hair" )

As always, any comments are appreciated and carefully considered!

    Cheers
    Mike

    Re: The Streets of Budapest

I think that the mannequin face works well but the subject in the background doesn't really hold my interest very much.

The second image is very sharp, looks like you had some fantastic weather.

The third image, Hair, is my pick of the bunch, I really like the frame, the textures and the patterns created by the spray paint. I think the lighting is spot on and the face that has been drawn is unusual, not sure if it is good graffitti but it certainly works as a photograph.

    Hello Mike
Always interesting to see pictures from far away places. These are very nice, all three, but I agree with Herriots critique on the first. Great detail in the face though. The second has a Mediterranean look and the third is also my favourite.

    Re: The Streets of Budapest

Herriot & Tom .. thanks for looking and commenting. I always thought that, of the three, the last was the strongest and the first the weakest. It's good to have that confirmed. I thought that, maybe, the yellow of the man's shirt would be enough to lift it - but perhaps not enough

Still, here's a similar shot taken the previous day .. stronger perhaps?

Herriot - yes the weather was wonderful, hovering around 30C most of the time.

    Cheers

I agree with Herriot and Overbeyond. The first one would work better without the person and #3 is the best. But I also like the last one. Almost as if the manneqiunn is screaming at the man and he is looking as if it were his wife. Nice work.

This latest one is very good. Tho look of distraction from his paper on the mans face is great.
A really good fun image Mike.
