    Ray of Light...Sunrise

I am not much to do a sunrise but I almost drove into this one. What do you think?

I like this alot but I think it would do better as a pano shot - I would crop off the lower half..... the weed in front is distracting for me - I love it as a pano though..... maybe a tad bit of contrast and a little saturation, and I think it would be perfect!

    Good shot!

Oooh no, leave it as it is, that weed IS the subject in the foreground.
I like how it stands out from the monoculture of the field.
Also it's at the end of the sun flare, a nice touch.
Could do with a little more saturation and vibrance perhaps, but I like pastels too.

I like it as is. Bet it would sure look good as a large print and I do mean large.

I like this alot too Greg. As Paul said, I think the lone weed is ideal in the fg. Nice as it is, but you could paint and saturate a bit more drama into the scene for that extra bit of wow power.
    Nicely done

Well done Greg on this. It's got a lovely atmosphere to it and the very extensive foreground is salvaged if you like by the presence of the yellow weed. The field takes me across to the lovely ranges of hills and trees and the sun is easy on the eyes too. I'd be careful if you intend to add further saturation etc because it would be very easy to loose that delicate early morning feel, which is what the image is all about.

I like how the suns ray is almost connecting to the weed, pulls it together completly. Great shot! If only sunrises didnt come so early, I would try them too lol

Nice shot Greg, I can see the pano point of view but like the others have pointed out..no real focal point after the weed. The weed also shows a lot of different lighting and texture.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Greg,
Fantastic shot, the "weed" in the foreground balances and ties in the sun rising above the sun rising above the clouds almost as if the "weed' is rising up to meet the sun. IMHO processing the image would only be a detriment. If you like the image from your eye and camera then keep it, if not use the delete button or save to less favorites. Remember a weed is only a flower in a spot we do not want it.

Subtle colors. Can almost smell the dew on the grass. I might crop out a small amount of the sky at the top, just to emphasize the grass more. I like how the sun's rays angle over to the flowers growing at that location.

    Overall, very nice work

Great shot Greg, I think that the composition works very well and there are great textures in this shot, agree that some additional saturation could be called for.

Excellent composition Greg, Great timing to catch this one! The rays of light touching the "weed" Golden light is the best. I like this beauty as is.
    Outstanding work.

    Re: Ray of Light...Sunrise

Thanks all for the comments. I have tried to go back into Lightroom and get a little more saturation and pop. It is hard to balance this one as Tom stated I begin to lose detail, mostly in the sky, at a point. The 520 is suppose to have a little more DR. I will be glad when it get's here.LOL
GB1 at one point I had more sky cropped but if you look hard there is a slight halo around the sun and I wanted a little seperation there.
