    by the road

I had a self-imposed rule to take the photos from the car up to now.
This time, I got out, crossed the road and took this.
Does it work, or should I reshoot differently another evening?

The light is good. I'd like to see the tree more to left of frame and more on right

I think it's a great shot. Most of the shots you upload have such great scenery in them. Really some beatiful scenery in your 'neck of the woods'. One thing though, everytime I see a shot like this with shadows, I start immediately thinking, "man, this is perfect for HDR." Is that bad?
