    Almost Forgotten

I got up early and made my way down to the Old Soldiers Home cemetary.
This one fascinated me as the ever growing tree has broken the marker and yet someone made sure it had a flag for Memorial Day here in the states.
Now that I've found it, I definitly intend to reshoot. All suggestions appreciated.

I like what I see, no need for a reshoot. Nice work Frog.

This is a very good shot, Frog. I agree with Greg. . .you got it. I love how the tree seemed to embrace the stone as if to cherish it and the flag placement as well as all the other stones and flags in the bg make this a really good shot.
Well done, Frog. . .and a fitting image for the weekend

great shot frog...nice 3 dimensionality with the stone. Did you try to clone something up above..I would redo that area.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Re: Almost Forgotten

A great image, frog. I wouldn't change anything(apart from correcting the clone top middle). In the UK we do ours in November, but the principle is the same - and they won't be forgotten as long as there are some of us who remember, with sorrow and gratitude, no matter what country we come from.

    Cheers

    Re: Almost Forgotten

I think the sight of all the flags make this one for me but there is an unusual shiny green thing at the top that looks as if it should not be there. Should it be there Frog?

    Re: Almost Forgotten

Thankyou and yes, again, I need to work on my cloning.
I'm thinking of doing it again with my 50mm which I think will give more depth of field, which I'd like a bit more of. Also want to try it using fill flash which might help eliminate the trouble I had getting the tripod solid on the sloped ground.

    Re: Almost Forgotten

    Hello there.

Very nice shoot, only two suggestions:

1- if you decide not to reshoot, the cloning bit can maybe put right with some blur.

2- if you decide to reshoot, I imagine a different perpective for this shoot, with your camera either in the ground or just a inch or two off the ground.

Thanks for sharing that picture with us Frog

    Well done

    Re: Almost Forgotten

Great shot. I won't list the good things about it cause others have already done that. I think I would balance the left and right sides a little more, for it seems like the left side is cramped. The colors are nice, but almost over-saturated. I think if it were all in focus that bright colors would be more acceptable.

Nice that you got out and grabbed this type shot today - I should do the same!

    Re: Almost Forgotten

It looks really too saturated towards the top. Also having the horizon line straight might help IMO. Then i would turn the flag in the foreground so its not turning over its self more like hanging towards the stone.
