    Smile Frankfort State Capital

Even though I have shot photos for years I am just now getting serious about. What do you all think of this shot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. So you don't have to be nice .

    Thanks

wow, the tulips look as if they were painted. for a photograph too contrasty from my point of view. you should rotate the photo a bit to the left so that all horizontals are horizontal.
oh, welcome to the forum, just saw that it is your first post.

Like engineer said, watch your horizon this one is tilted to the right. I like the light on the tulips, but the light on the capitol building is lacking. I would also try shooting this at a different time of day, ie early morning or late afternoon when the light is warmer.

Welcome fellow olympian, yes I agree with all the points mention above and also in this case maybe stand just a bit further away and use say F10 so that the tulips whould be in focus as well, or do the opposite for more boken.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is your tulips are sort of bang on the middle not in focus but not to 'creamy' too.

However, you got an eye for photography.

    Well done

Thanks all for the comments. As I said above I am really just now getting into photography as a serious hobbie. I'm the first to say that I have a whole lot to learn. Your comments will definably be used to make my photography much better. Glad to be part of the group.

Welcome to the site. I think the composition is great. The lighting is harsh though. Take this shot during the golden hour and add a few clouds and it would be awesome.
