This is a very interesting shot. I like it. It might be very cool in straight b/w.

    Re: The Painter

Thx Ptax..I played around a little with B/W but it was pretty contrasty. I decided to tone it down some and then accentuate some. I think it looks better from a distance.

    Re: The Painter

I like it with the splashes of color, i dont think it would be as striking in straight color or straight BnW

Normally I don't care much for selective colorization but if you didn't use it here the grass in the foreground would kill the image.

Not great but not bad and a nice save.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: The Painter

This works for me, Rod. I agree with MB that the grass could kill the shot if not for the color treatment. My only critique would be to have panned a bit more to the left so that the woman and easel are near the right of the frame since she is facing to the left.

    Very nice.

I wonder if sepia would be the perfect option.

    Re: The Painter

Thx armywife, I agree..the color and b/w didnt pop anything.
Mb, it was exactly that..a save..it kept popping up..had to try something.
Thx Gary, it really has a nice look..from about 5 feet away. And it is a crop..sooo I might just be able to find that panned shot!
Tony, this is after a series of seperate masks ..I did look at a sepia initially but the contrast killed it..maybe this result converted to sepia might have a better look. Thx for commenting.
