It is a nice match of title to subject. If you could chop down the tree on the left and put some nice dramatic clouds in the sky that would improve this a lot-I'm thinking this needs more tonal varation as everything is pretty dark and contrasty.

I do think that B&W was a good choice for this one.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I agree with MB1, the sky looks bland. There is a lot of stuff at the bottom of the pic, it's be hard to get a clean look to it.

    Re: Power Struggle

    Funny title.

It's an interesting find, though I somehow feel you didn't find the best angle to photograph it (speculation of course, since I wasn't there!). In some situations a dark sky works well, creating a dramatic feeling, but I don't think it does here. I just want to see the subject better, and the dark sky sort of makes it fade into the background and seem dull. Maybe with some PP you can pull it out.

Hey, maybe in a lightning storm this would really look neat! But, they say trees are not a good thing to be around when there's lightning.

It would be better if you increased gamma and contrast and straightened the pole (making it parallel to the frame) then cropped out distractions and even cloned out wires.

Wow, I played around with it some last night and the effect I came out with looks a lot like what you've done there, Don!

What about a hint of color? Maybe even a little tinting?
Just trying to put in some ideas.

DesertDog - I think you're on the right path, but the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the edited shot isn't needed .. Crop it. Otherwise, a really nice effect. Thanks to don for suggesting it.
