    Tree Planting Car

went out to the sandilands forest center where they have a rail car used for 55 years of service, showing the public the importance of planting different kinds of trees for different types of enviroments especially during the dirty thirties where they needed to stop wind erosion, the car was donated to the center in 1974, by the canadian pacific railway.here are a few shots of my expedition today.

Where do you find all these things? Photos are good. A little flash on mirrors and shiny surfaces in #2. A strong straight shot of the side of the car could have been very effective I think.

As documentation the images work just fine.

The first image would be better with better lighting conditions, the reflections in the windows are nice but the contrast between the well lit foreground and the train in the shade caused the blown foreground.

The on camera flash in the second image is a problem. Off camera would have worked well here.

The third image needs a little straightening to the right but alas by itself it is the least interesting of the three. It works well with the others though.
    No, I DON'T need that.

yes your right about the blown out on the first image, just recently got the hang of exposure compensation on the camera, will pay more attention to that in the future,

the second with the kitchen,i had a shot without the flash and it was too dark, with the flash it sort of balanced the color out better, i guess i should of turn down the flash more.

the third shot i don't agree,i think it is pretty good as is, it shows the depth or length of the car,and shows the seats giving it inside character, plus if you notice obove all the windows there are pictures and small logs showing the different types of tree's during that period.

the amazing thing about this train is that its about 2 miles in the forest where there are no train tracks whats so ever, the feat to get this old beheamuth in the woods the first place must have been quite a nightmare.

I think #1 is recoverable if you shot in RAW - then set the exposure for the highlights and save it then for the shadows and save then merge both in PS.

I do like the documentary style of the three and they may be good in a Tryptich.
