    End of the day

I've been waiting for this flower to begin to wilt so I could take this. Tonight was the first night it didnt close up when the sun went down. It is lit with a porch light and the very end of a sunset, both lightsources very dim.

    Shutter speed: 8s
    Aperture: F/4.0
    Focal Length: 50mm
    ISO Speed: 640

    C&C Please!

    Re: End of the day

Hey Mike, my first impression is that I think you can crop this from the left side into a square frame having the flower in the upper left corner area. All the space on the left side is not really adding to the image.
If it were a porch light and the end of a sunset lightig this I would think that the original scene was probably alot less lit than this. I would try coming down on the exposure in your editing software and especially darken the background some more if you know how.
I think the mood and the darker bg will help bring back the beauty of this scene that initially prompted you to capture it in the first place
the red and green is pretty and the slight wilt is lending to some character here.

Much stronger, Mike. Good work in cropping and editing. The flower not only stands out but it has a mood and allure that comes out of this now.

    Re: End of the day

I somehow like the light in the first image, the second looks a little too brown/yellow.
    No, I DON'T need that.
