Which style?

I'm doing player shots for a couple of football teams. This is my challenge, the location of the shoot was a school with a very large field without trees or anything other than fences, parking lots and a shopping center next door. I do "in-play" type photos and came up with the following two styles.

1) Fancy background with seemingly untouched photo. I did take out light poles, cell towers, etc...
2) Definitely more graphic with the background replaced with a view of a field I took at a college game last fall. Cutting out the players did allow me some more freedom in placing the players images though.


Which style is better for player photos?

I like the second one, if that helps.

The second one looks better. The first style if the school was recognizable, other than a strip mall

Thanks guys, that's the one I went with. Three pages of contact sheets like the one below and I think I'm done.
