    Yellow - headed Blackbirds.

Ya know, blackbirds can actually be quite attractive. I found some cooperative ones this morning, at the outskirts of an area state park.

wow having never seen this species before you did a great job capturing them. Are they similar in size and characteristics to the RWBB's? My fav shot is #3 in this series.

Yup, especially if they add some yellow here and some white there

According to my guide books, we have these birds in our area, but I have never seen one. Nice shots Mike. I will have to look harder for these the next time I'm out.

Fascinating - never new this breed existed. Must get some more bird books to read.

    Excellent series of photos.

Great shots. Definitely reminiscent of RWBB, just look at that calling one.

Great job! Never even knew it existed

That #3 with the breath vapor is way cool! I always try to capture their breath when it is cool enough - not easy to do.
