    Photo numbering system

I need to know if there is a way to change the photo numbering on my Canon Power Shot S5 IS. My husband and I both have the same camera, and I am running into problems downloading photos. My iPhoto will not allow me to download two images with the same number. Is there a way to change the numbering system?

    Re: Photo numbering system

I'm not a Mac user, but you should be able to download to a different folder. Just name one for you and one for your husband. That way you won't have to worry about the cameras, since I don't think you can change that in the camera anyway.

    Re: Photo numbering system

Different directory is a good idea, also batch renaming in software.

The camera should have a menu selection File Number Reset/Start that lets you Zero the counter at least. My canon Power Shots have this feature. If you can't find it I'll snag the manual for one of these from a friend over the weekend and see what I can find.

You might want to append with a batch rename (IRFANVIEW free software has a handy facility for this as do various other free and full version tools) that tells you which photo you or your husband took. Just add your initials to the file number!

Let us know what works or if you need more direction!
