I like the catch and the composition but I believe the light isn't the best.
The tones are too even and the shadows aren't long enough to make this more than a good image.
If you move there you can go back and shoot this at other times of the day and other times of the year. I think it needs warmer light, longer shadows and perhaps a shadow or 2 of someone standing there to make it into a first class image.
Some really interesting new looks from you Len......
I've looked at this several times and I think the lighting is a bit flat.
If you shot in raw, I'd try bumping the shadows some and it might bring out more detail.
Interesting shot though.
Very interesting. More shadows would make the shot more interesting. Good job

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!

It's funny, but as I was shooting this, I was thinking about your DC soldiers in the rain with the seeming tears & wondering how this would look in the rain........it's literally 1 block from where I am staying so I suspect I'll reshoot it in different light and weather.
Shadows.....hmmm, hadn't thought of that.
This shot was necessitated by a really crappy backround....I liked the sculpture, just not the backround....so a closeup was the only choice.

Len, Crown Hill is one of my favorites. As well as the downtown Canal. Eagle Creek park is very, very nice with the occaisional bald eagle and osprey sighted, as well as commonly seeing deer, fox, and other small animals.
If you're into shooting people, you can't beat Broad Ripple OR Mass Ave. Mass Ave gets the nod from me for a more eclectic blend of folks.
One of the things I would like to see is this taken later in the day, or early morning to get that warm glow and long shadows to make the sculpture take on a more 3D look thanks to the extended shadows.
Any chance you can re-shoot. You may need a tripod for steadiness at that time of day as the speed will be a lot slower than the high sun you seem to have here.

Nice shot, although I agree with the others. Shadows casting off of the faces would look neat. I'm in Indy as well. There is a park by Fort Ben that is really nice. You should visit there as well.
